This exquisite antique rhinestone necklace was made by Bogoff, circa 1950. It is GORGEOUS and in excellent condition! It is brilliant enough to adore the decollete of a bride on her wedding day, yet understated enough to be worn during a regular night on the town. All in all its a very special piece, one of versatility and class.
It measures 16 inches is adjustable to 18 inches.
The metal rhodium is a member of the platinum group and has a similar quality and value. The centerpiece of the necklace is articulated and made up of 6 different pieces enabling it to move as you wear it. The focal portions measure approximately 3 inches wide with a 1 inch drop. Very feminine and delicate. The stones on the necklace are all bright and clear with only one stone that is missing.
It is signed "Bogoff" on the back of the pendant. Bogoff is favorite costume jewelry maker! Their designs are exquisite. The Bogoff company was founded in 1946 by Henry Bogoff and his wife Yvette. The jewelry they made was very stylish with fine detailing and featured smaller stones set in timeless designs. Bogoff jewelry often graced the stars of the era on the silver screen. Although very popular during its time, the Bogoff company remained in business for only 13 years and closed its doors in 1959 when Henry passed.
