For your consideration is this beautiful large pearlized River Clam shell featuring a natural attached pearl. These polished shells measure approximately 5 to 6 inches and reveal the luminous Mother of Pearl beneath the outer surface, creating beautiful pearly, silvery and rainbow iridescence.
The attached pearl makes each shell especially fascinating and unique. Pearls can naturally form when an irritant becomes trapped within a mollusk and layers of nacre gradually develop around it. Together with the shimmering interior of the shell, the pearl creates a wonderful natural history specimen and display piece.
These large River Clam shells are beautiful additions to seashell collections, curiosity cabinets, natural history displays, coastal and nautical decor, altar spaces and other nature-inspired collections.
