Caspar Curiosities
$325.00
For your consideration is this utterly fabulous antique Cup of Knowledge fortune telling tea cup and saucer, dating to 1924. It was manufactured by the renowned Aynsley pottery of England specifically as a souvenir for the Wembley Exhibition in London. Both the cup and saucer retain their original maker’s marks on the underside.
The interior of the cup is decorated with images of playing cards, allowing the user to combine the arts of cartomancy (fortune telling with cards) and tasseomancy (tea leaf reading). As the tea leaves settle within the cup, the surrounding playing card symbols provide additional layers of meaning and insight, creating a unique divination experience. These fascinating fortune telling cups blended two popular methods of fortune telling and were highly fashionable during the early 20th century.
This is a genuine antique example, not a modern reproduction. The cup and saucer are in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs noted. The transfer designs remain beautifully preserved, making this a wonderful addition to any tea cup collection, curiosity cabinet, Victorian décor display, or fortune telling collection.
You will receive the exact antique cup and saucer pictured. As with all authentic antiques, minor signs of age and manufacture may be present and are considered part of the piece’s history and charm.
This particular design has been reproduced extensively in recent years. Modern reproductions will either lack makers marks or copy the original makers mark but they will make some changes to it; either in spelling or design. Original pieces carry the original makers as they were in the year of production on both the cup *and* saucer.

The day after I got my chrysoprase bracelet I wore it to lunch and got three compliments on it right away. It’s shining with bright intense color and the photo does not show it as well but it is stunning. I apologize for the lighting in the photo. This goes with so many summer colors and probably winter as well. It is gorgeous!
The peaceful feeling of this flower agate really comes out in this tumble. It’s very smooth and high polished and goes perfectly with my collection of Temple stones. I love displaying it in my bowl. Absolutely perfect!
The Malachite is beautiful. It has such a deep color and feels to have a wonderful vibration. Perfect for my collection!
I love to put tumbles in a bowl and this tiny carnelian tumble goes so well with the small bowl and other stones that I have. It’s absolutely perfect and I love the deep color of it. High-quality!
I’m so glad that you offered the black Shiva lingam as well. I got both kinds and I love them both. Perfect size for palm and meditation. Thank you so much!
