For your consideration are these hand carved ox bone laughing face cabochons, sold by the piece. The are super realistic and most likely depict Laughing Buddha, however they also kind of remind me of the Man in the Moon from Georges Méliès "A Trip to the Moon". They are round and available 16mm, 20mm, 25mm or 30mm diameters.
