For your consideration is this utterly fabulous antique Nelros Cup of Knowledge fortune telling tea cup and saucer, dating to approximately 1905. Manufactured by the renowned Aynsley pottery of England, both the cup and saucer retain their original maker’s marks on the underside.
The Nelros Cup of Knowledge was designed for the Victorian and Edwardian fascination with tassomancy (aka tasseography), the art of reading tea leaves. Detailed symbols and interpretations are printed inside the cup, allowing the user to divine fortunes and discover hidden meanings from the patterns left behind after drinking tea.
This is a genuine antique example, not a modern reproduction. The cup and saucer are in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, or repairs noted.
